Anthony Franco is a designer and stylist who creates well constructed clothing for men and women. His idea is that all clothing should be timeless and hold true to his aesthetic for the line. His custom made dresses, corsets, blouses, leather goods, knits, and suits are coveted by celebrities and fashionistas all over the world. Last season, we attended his show during LA Fashion week and were in awe of his beautiful collection. His women’s wear and menswear was unique, classic, and completely unique.
His women’s wear was edgy, with women walking out in leather skirts and chiffon tops. Dresses were custom made with intricate detailing and prints that would be ideal for work or play. My absolute favorite was a mustard yellow gown (THE color of the season) that was strapless, ruffled and flowy. The colors, prints, and styles were reminiscent of resort wear with tropical florals, ruffles, and even a fabulous one piece that was accented with a tropical straw hat. A specific tribal print was used in a dress and as a cover up for a simple black bikini, and when a model in a beaded shell top and hemmed blazer came out following, I was in awe—Franco seriously does detail better than anyone I’ve seen yet. If you’ve been reading the LA Fashion, you would know that we’ve been talking about how Tangerine is one of the most current color trends out there, and Franco utilized this stunning color in a multitude of dresses, from short and tight to long and flowy. Some were strapless, some were one shoulder, and some were v-neck; either way, they all looked amazing, and he pulled it off—even finishing with a sequined tan and orange number.
